What have you done to your Superduke today

Postby Jody » Tue Nov 16, 2010 6:20 pm

Don't think we've got one of these going here on SD.net so I thought I'd start one!

I personally have done a slightly strange thing yesterday and today.......

I rode it.......

On the road !!!!!! not a marshal in sight !

I'd forgotten how much fun wheelies are :)

over to you.....

Not today, but last night, I finally got around to doing the mod to derestrict 2nd and 3rd gear ECU sensor. Wasn't easy getting those 2 wires out, but eventually got 'em out. A noticeable improvement. Don't know why I was so scared to do it on the first day, being a new bike and all. Oh well. Anyways, glad I did it.

FYI: I didn't mark the connector plug, instead I took a picture and then made a drawing in case I would ever need to put them back. For example, if I had to take it in for warrany work. Not that they would deny said work, but why risk it.

Changed the oil and put away for the winter. Sad day...
That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.

I haven't done much today, but on Saturday I got it ready for winter and parked it in my living room :D
It took a few guys to haul it up the stairs, but we made it happen.

Luigy.

That's like asking if oysters, followed by sirloin steak, creme brule, then brandy, coffee and cheese selection is too much dinner. Of course not, just leaves you satisfied and content and wanting to do it again as soon as possible

Hi Bic,
Of course i know that all the mods i´m doing to the SD are the best you can do to improve performance. :D
But i´m not sure it will be easy to manage the new response of the bike...i mean i prefer both wheels in ground!!!

Changed all bodily fluids. Had noticed that the brake and clutch reservoirs were dark and murky. Must have oxidised coz the brakes pull up much betterer now. Tightened everything up and am ready for my third track day weekend in a row. Woo hoo.

But if its not a race the track is a lot more fun on the back wheel. And makes for good pics!

Good advise - even bought a new tube of Loctite 243 having realised that my old tube of thread locking compound is nearly 20 years old

I also put a paint mark across the top of the bolts/nut so you can easily see if any have started to come loose

Pulled even more bits off it

So far i have -

Fitted SDR seat unit (thanks Jody) and added Battle race decals to the seat unit.
Fitted larger 07 tank.
Swingarm/ rear shock removed ready to regrease bearings.
Front end removed ready to regrease head bearings.
rearsets removed and boxed up ready to go to anodizers.
ECU remapped with TuneECU.
Removed PC111, multi-function hub and map switch ready to ebay.

Just a case of waiting for some bits to turn up then throw it back together ready for next year :P

Im thinking about a HM quick shifter kit but cant decide between that and getting my full back tattoo started 8)
