Looks better than I expected and this could be a purchase but not sold completely yet. A lot depends on price tag.

i just put wings exhaust, 2 inch bar risers and some RG bolt on stuff.....stoked!

I'm yet to find any that fit. Bought a set and they did fit but were the wrong angle and unusable so I gave up. Just waiting for the dam PP rearsets to come in stock so I can replace the whole thing but they are 6 weeks backorder. Ohhhh how I hate that word.

What pegs did you Try? Did you try the ones with an offset like these on Ebay?
Are the mounts the same as the 990?

From the look of the fitting part they are for the 990, the 1290 doesn't have the lugs on the bottom.
Maybe more of a Suzuki or Ducati fitment.
Anyone game to try?

Nah just straight ones. The 1290 SDR has the same pin diameter as several other KTM models (forget what it is off the top of my head but the same as the 125-200-390 DUKE) which fit the pegs I bought but the issue was the spring and the angle they ended up sitting at once installed.

Straight pegs were never going to work as the peg to mount is offset by 25mm.
Just need to work out the correct mount type.

The 1290 is what the 990 was suppose to be.

They fit perfectly fine but instead of being parallel to the ground they slope towards the ground just ever so slightly if you get what I mean.

So Ross Noble is using a 1290 for his next show.
Likes it by the looks, maybe he gets better support from KTM than most hmmmmm.

Wow, it says he's got one with 180bhp! I want one like that too!
Wonder if the rear wheel wobbles like mine?

Just playing around a bit in Photoshop. I know this defeats the purpose of a naked bike but I reckon a 'belly pan' fairing mod to fill in the gap between front wheel and radiator would look awesome:

I think the 1290 is crying out for a belly pan. Improved the lines on the 990 for sure.

You could be right, that oil tank is not exactly a looker.

That looks great jemook. I'd buy one. Now of you go and make sure you make me one in orange/white combination please.

Jut make sure during your R&D you test you maintain sufficient airflow to that big bore v-twin

Just back from my first (very short) ride on the 1290, and as I said to my friends, I understand what all the hype is about. What a great if not incredible street bike. The huge v-twin might be the smoothest (fueling) motor I've ever ridden. Truly amazing. Maybe the best gearbox I've felt, and the WP suspension (for my weight) is equally good, if not great. Mirrors vibrate some but offer plenty of vision. Helmet wind blast almost nil at 65mph, I didn't feel much heat from the motor on this outing. Need to ride the Crest to get an even better feel for it but so far so great.

What a motor!

apparently its the adventure of the adventure   i:e: beemer do the GS/GSA , either that or a replacement for the 1190 ( which KTM say  it isnt)

Anyhow it still appears to have the 1290 motor ( or at least the sticker)
