Are you considering making another run of these ever? or would you consider releasing the technical drawings so we can make our own? - i was looking at these the other day and they look far better than anything else i've seen.

I would shoot him an email, I've messaged him on here a couple months ago as well and sent him an email without a reply.

I can recommend them. I bought one from the first run, it needed a little modification to the plastic seat base, but super sturdy and great for holding and strapping a kreiga bag to.

But if you were to add any HD item to your bike,it would make it 78%more likely to break down!

I don't suppose anyone has a photo of what they had to do in order to fit the seat over the rack? Obviously the 'hook' needs changing, but which part of the plastic/underside needs modification?

Thanks in advance.

Good luck - I tried DM and email with no response. Better off trying to snag one second hand I suspect.

Fitted one i got 2nd hand yesterday, fairly straight forward fit and may i say a quality fabrication c/w the modded underside seat hooks and fittings c/w altered seat lock latch.

The plastic ribs on the moulding on the underside of the seat interfere with the new grabrail and prevent the seat from sitting low enough for it to engage properly with its hooks /fixings! A dremmel and 10 minutes shaving around 2 inches off two protrusions under the seat soon sorted it! Took me around an hour to fit the grabrail to a good standard.

Looks great, my girl feels safer on the back and the bonus is that it is so much easier to manoeuvre the bike while man handling it around! Got something to hold onto!

Looks good.

Can you post a shot of the altered latch? I don't think I have that so need to look at what I can bodge together.

I don't have a dremmel so used a knife to cut off the offending plastic. It took some effort to force the seat on, and now I cant get the damn thing off again. Will have to try again this evening. did you take out the entirety of the plastic protrusions under the seat? I just cut them back a bit on an angle.

REPLY...
The altered latch is effectively a step in the metal tang...you will see your original black metal latch is flat (with i guess a plastic flat cap on one end) as the seat sits a little higher to accommodate the grabrail underneath the modification is to step the latch so it secures in its original place!

Maybe best for me to take a pic'!?...you may get away with bending the metal tang a bit but it is very short and may not securely lock your seat down!

I have one of these for sale, was thinking about $50nzd (about 25 pounds or 70ish usd) I'm in New Zealand but will post anywhere, let me know and I'll get a quote for shipping.

I've never fitted it, not sure if the lock Tang is the right one, I think it's supposed to have a step in it? Anyway that's all I've got.
