Parting out 2005 990 Superduke

Postby Motogoon » Mon Oct 09, 2017 12:29 am

So I've just picked up a 2005 model that dropped a valve in the front cylinder. I wanted it for a few spares but am parting the rest out. Lots of parts available, Has a Rottweiler Airbox, 07 tank etc

Let me know what you want and I'll put up a pic and price, I'm in New Zealand so shipping could be a killer but let me know where you are and I'm happy to get a quote for anything big or small.

Cheers, Blair

I'm looking at starting some improvements as I think my machine is pretty much original
so I would be interested in the Rottweiler Airbox plus would the parts bike also have the sas removal gear with it?

cheers

Kevin

Cool, would like $200nzd for the above (including the 2 throttle body X-ring seals not pictured) + $9 shipping in NZ.

Yes also have all the sas block off plates etc. Will get some pics of those tomorrow, pretty much be half the new price for those also.

Cheers

Has these http://www.rottweilerperformance.com/st ... big-twins/ sas plates, faded a bit to that dark copper colour as some black anodizing does, $25 for both those. Not sure if any resistors or those other parts there but if they are I'll throw those in as well. (Suspect the warning light just been turned off during mapping)

Right so that's everything I've got, checked every part of the wiring and unfortunatly no dongle so you'll have to either buy or make one or turn it off in the mapping. So $234 for all pictured shipped in NZ.

Cheers!

Shame I didn't see this earlier. I have a complete front cylinder, piston and head. You could get that engine going again.

I did think about resurrecting it but someone else pulled it apart and i looked at the boxes of bolts, wiring and parts, none marked with where they came from and thought no, I'm not going through putting that back together again!

They don't get parted out very often, especially here in NZ (I've never seen one dismantled here) so the parts are going to good causes, a grateful racer that had been looking for a long time already snapped up the wheels.

I guess rebuilding just the engine could still be a possibility, the guy who races them expressed some interest in making a spare engine, will keep it in mind.

Just bolting a front cylinder on is far easier than you would imagine. Didn't realise you were in NZ though as postage would be pretty horrific on something that heavy.

Yep still have it, was going to keep it as a spare but I guess make me an offer and I'll consider it! I would like to keep the light switch cable and lever to match the one on the clutch.

Shipping won't be any more than $50 nzd(hopefully less being fairly small) and I'd have to drain it completely so the Post Office would let me send it.
