07 950SMR

Postby !!950SMR!! » Mon Jan 21, 2013 11:23 pm

Will be picking up my 07 950SMR tomorrow. Has 1500 miles on the clock, leo vince slip ons, and from what I can tell moose racing handle bars and bark busters. Not sure if these come standard on the SMR or what. Bike looks and runs like new. Does anyone have any pointers or any info in general for the bike?

Rag the fook out of it   A m8 had one and its great fun. I think a couple of guys here might have owned them but tbh you should check out the SM section of KTM forum. There should be more tech info there.

You'll find some info here but I'd post any questions there as well. There are sure to be specific issues with it being a 950 and carb'ed. http://www.ktmforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=92 also maybe a 950 Adv forum for same reason that its the same engine. A couple of the mods like air boxes are universal though.

Maybe look here as well http://www.supermotoforum.co.uk/

950smr's don't come with them bars or barkbusters.

They have a smaller tank than their equivalent 950sm.

They have pretty paint.

Other than that they're the same. Black calipers, swingarm etc aside.

If you're in the UK get the bike to X-bikes, if not buy one of his kits and install it.

Great bikes... i've owned 2.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I do have another question though. Does anyone have block off plates (SAI Blockoffs I believe). I noticed one plate on the left side of the motor, its silver and says AAKTM on it. Once again, just trying to figure out whats all stock and whats not.

As far as i know, all lc8's came with sai installed. Blockoff plates are not standard.

Does anyone know the size for the swingarm spools for 07 950 smr? Riders Discount sent me 10mm woodcraft spools and the bolts will not fit. They go maybe a 1/4 turn then thats it.

X2 See Chris at X Bikes for performance stuff. Go see him he's not expensive.
Raise the top of the forks 10mm above the clamp (ie drop the forks 10mm if that make sense)
Oberon clutch slave cylinder is worth adding, the oem ones all seem to fail between 10-20K miles
I think Rottweiler also make airboxes for them these days see Zen overlands site.

I had a 950SM before the SD
