.HEX Maps for TuneECU and Custom PCIII Maps Downloads

Postby Colonel_Klinck » Tue Nov 30, 2010 8:13 am

All links now updated and working again. Finally got it done. :D

Guys I have finally got my lazy arse into gear and uploaded all the TuneECU maps to DropBox. They should all be working correctly but please check file name of map against what you wanted before installing with TuneECU. Remember I do like a joint or 3 and although I wasn't high when I uploaded these maps I can't be held responsible if I have fooked up and uploaded the wrong map to the wrong title. All maps have the correct name in the file you download so just check that first please.

Cheers

Klinck :D

This sticky is for listing .hex maps and PCIII maps for use with TuneECU. Please give info of exactly what maps the bike is from/for. ie year, UK/Europe, US, Aussie ect. Mods such as Cans, Air Filter/Motobox and if it is a Akra map or standard map loaded in ECU. That is an important point!

For the .hex maps, is it is combined with a custom PCIII map. Individual cylinders ect. You get the idea. The more info on the map the better.
Remember though that you are downloading and using a map at your own risk!

Please keep talk of TuneECU to the Offical TuneECU thread.

.HEX Maps for upload to ECU with TUneECU.
note these maps are not standard KTM maps but either combined KTM and custom PCIII map or a KTM map customised with TuneECU on dyno.

These first maps are Akra maps that have been smoothed out by James aka MrZ32. They are the safest maps to use as there is no danger of them being lean. This is what he wrote about what has been done to the maps in another thread.

"I have left the akra fuelling alone but turned the o2sensors off, set the 2ndry flies to stay open always(for those that leave them in, but removing the altogether is best), I have also changed the f-l switchover so that the l map only runs at idle... 3-4K surging cured and lifting off the throttle doesn't quite have the same abruptness"

07-08 US SD speedmotorrad's map
- 08 US spec standard Superduke, FMF Apex exhausts, CPR intake, RC8 stacks, 2nd flies and shafts removed, SAS blocked off, O2 eliminator. My F-L switch values are modified, as is timing under 3500, bottom end is much smoother, most of the jerkiness removed, but still pulls like crazy, 121hp and 75.5 torque"

New!!

James has just sent me some smoothed out maps for standard SD/R. Here is what he wrote about them.

here are the standard maps that are now smoothened, this will make the newbs very happy.

The FL switchover can be applied to most maps with great results in smoothness but once a dyno tune map is created, you are going to have to be aware that the map was never designed to have these modifications applied.

You will notice that a lot of maps have a lean spot below 3k rpm because of the FL swichover and no matter how much tuning is done it wont accurately fix this because the ecu is reading two completely different maps under certain conditions. By changing the FL switchover, you are effectively causing the bike to only read off one map at any usable rpm (which your dyno tuner will thank you for later on) but will revert to the closed loop cycle at idle (to allow better running at idle).

06 SD standard smoothened.hex
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/866 ... thened.hex

07 SD Euro standard smoothened.hex

08 SDR Euro standard smoothened.hex
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/866 ... thened.hex

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These maps are custom maps and as such were created for a specific bike on the dyno. They carry a risk as your bike, even if the same and with the same mods could run lean and you should be aware of this before using them.

well yes there are two versions, guys map and a richened version of his (seemed to work better for the grim box above 6k rpm)... i think guys map is the most powerful map if you have a good set of slip ons on but if you run a motobox im thinking that you may want to use an even richer version of the one that i am running

(i suspect that because the grim990 box is smaller than the motobox, the motobox can flow more air)

Guys when you email me any PCIII or .hex maps can you please give me all info about what bike that map is from. Year? Cans? Any airfiler/box mods? Secondary butterflies? Makes my life a bit easier and means people get more info about exactly what they are downloading. More info the better.
Cheers :D

you forgot to put the hex up that has my name... the richer version of guys map, more suited to an airbox replacement with pipes etc...

Klincks map? You got me confused dude! Klincks bike is an 05-06 model I believe so you can't use his PCIII map on a 07 bike!

Use MrZ32 or my map for an 07-08 model!

guy,,, it is actually klinks pc111 map that i draped over an 08 akra map... it is pretty smooth and works well but our maps do work better... but if you didnt want to play with any advance settings that the klinks one would work.

I have used it and it ran better than the standard akra

but to make sure... it is the 08 klinks map... not the 06 one

I have one for the following bike:

09 SD (AUS/UK)
Akrapovic slipons (no baffles)
O2 eliminators fitted
SAS Removed
Motobox fitted
Secondary Flies fitted
Akra map loaded on ECU
PCIII installed
Only mapped for one cylinder not both individually.

Anyone want it?

Q: what map to start from?

I just installed the MH full kit. So my bike is now:
2007 SD, USA
Akra Ti round slip-ons, no baffle inserts
MH airbox, SBV, SAS delete

Presently on the Akra map, (eta) just test rode it. In 50 degree weather, it seems pretty darn good.

Fuel: 'premium' here is 92 AKI, sometimes 93 AKI, 10% ethanol. So AFAIK we have 96-97 RON here.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

I see in the Map Info the 'james' map says 'for 98 RON'. So is the 'klinks' map a better starting point, given the above? Or is that for EU 98 RON as well?

TIA

MH airbox, SBV, SAS delete

Presently on the Akra map, (eta) just test rode it. In 50 degree weather, it seems pretty darn good.

Fuel: 'premium' here is 92 AKI, sometimes 93 AKI, 10% ethanol. So AFAIK we have 96-97 RON here.

I see in the Map Info the 'james' map says 'for 98 RON'. So is the 'klinks' map a better starting point, given the above? Or is that for EU 98 RON as well?

TIA

Try guy's map. Should be ok

i would actually want to try the 08 version of klinks map first, as it is still rich but no advance (advance if wrong will cause serious probs quickly)

if that is ok then I would try dropping guys ignition settings into klinks 08 map, then I would try mine then guys. Guys will produce the most power no doubt guy... but I worry that it may be too lean for the motobox. I could be completely wrong and yours could be fine but I would prefer to be safe.
