Sweet! Can't wait for next year (April 28th) . Something about a 1/4 mile that gives a huge rush different to that of a trackday, especially with a fookin S bend in it!

I finally made it to the strip, was fun but got rained off just as I was getting the hang of it.
This is on Standard gearing 17/38 you can see my 60' time needs BIG improving.
If the weather is good next week, I'm going again... I want the 10

Linga if you get your 60' time down to 1.8s that will put you in the 10.70s :P

Into the 10's!
Well I got some sweet reaction times!
Won $150 for a 0.001
In the last part of the night the light system changed and I got 2 <-0.400 now I wasn't fouled out like when you jump start and I still won.
Can you explain these for me Indy?

fook yeah 10.8... fook these dukes are quick... r1's are 10.5 with a good rider.

its the original start system is .400... its the actual time it takes for the light to reach your eyes... its phyisically impossible to see the light before .400 of a second and therefore classed as a red light... as there is no way you could have seen the green light before you launched.

the new system deducts the .400 straight away....

How did it come off the line???

i rode 1st gear half throttle and pinned it in second gear to keep the front end down

Linga,
Which SD do you have the regular model or the R? What mods do you have? Getting into the 10's is damn impressive. Congrats!

You can see the difference in terminal speeds on these two similar runs...
I wish I had a good reaction time on the bottom one... 10.4...?

The reaction time has no effect on your ET unless you are racing, getting your 60' times down will lower your ET, terminal speed is a good indication of how much HP you have, Indy's bike has more going on his terminal speed compared to yours, i would guess 5-6bhp more

My best terminal speed is 123.58. As well as having the HP surely being 70kg with gear is a help also.

How much do you guys weigh?

Weather finally behaved itself yesterday and we got 6 runs in. Should have been 7 or 8 but the event wasn't as well organised as it has been in the past. On the 3rd run I didn't knock it into 2nd properly and it jumped back out so that run was wasted. Unfortunately only managed to take my PB down from 11.26 to 11.22 @ 124mph. My starts were poor all day for some reason, couldn't get below 2.10 at 64ft and the machine we can use to check our times between runs was down so I didn't realise I was so slow off the line. That's my excuse anyway. 8)

I have a few runs on camera that I'll post as well.
