See you in Valhalla one day where all the old warriors go.

Meh, he's on an SMR (presumably a 450 single) ... Uphill all the way and at serious elevation, top speeds aren't that tremendous - no matter the class or vehicle type. Unless one has a death wish, the road itself is somewhat limiting, and that's where the challenge lies.

There was a death this year, a veteran of the hill climb died during a practice run.

Yes, it happens occasionally ... Just as it does in closed-circuit road racing and during various forms of dirt riding/racing. Not to trivialize it, but >12 pedestrians die on average every day in the US. Another 15 to 16 times that many pedestrians are injured. Perhaps of interest, nearly the same number of motorcyclist fatalities occur daily in the US on average, as pedestrians. No, I am not suggesting that motorcycling is more or less "safe" than walking. It would however be interesting to know, on a per-mile-traveled basis, which is potentially more lethal.

Good to see KTM on top in something on-road (versus dirt) in the US (one make classes excepted )
