Jerez No Limits 5th -7th March 2016

Postby PhilJax » Wed Mar 09, 2016 11:00 pm

Had a great time at Jerez. Was good to meet some of the old hands of this forum. Great fella's :D

Anyway, another one ticked off the to do list. though I will be going back. 3 days is not enough around this fantastic circuit.
Klinck kindly showed me round the place, though it didn't seem to really click until the last day, when after a midday shower the faithful were rewarded with pretty much an empty track in superb conditions..... Heaven 8)

Couple of traffic free laps on my butchered Duke

Stalker took 'the thing' out for a session to relive his youth. I think he's got bitten by the Superduke bug again ;)

That is the coolest camera mount I have seen with excellent sound and video quality. Can you list your secrets, the mount camera settings?

Great riding by the way.

I agree - and was thinking the same thing about the camera mount - can't quite imagine where it is attached.

"Stalker" is the right name, watching him reel in those IL4s. Can feel the frustration being passed on the straight time and again, just to gobble them up again in the corners.

Nice watch and sounds good (don't need any bad techno with the soundtrack of the SD).

Just watched again. I can see a 1290 cleaning up in that group. Take most of them right out of the corners, and don't give them a chance to catch up on the straights.

Can't wait for my first SD trackday :)

I was there in November. Had a brill time. Jerry McWilliams was there riding around on his 1290 leaving everyone for dead while giving advanced instruction!

Thanks all.

The camera's on a sticky mount on the R/H air scoop, on my stripped down 'thing' , I've literally nowhere else to place it !!
I'll grab a photo when the bikes return, all my pic's are of the L/H

Was there a CBT session going on that day? Looked that way with all the early braking and lifesaver looks over the shoulder...
I presume that the "thing" is a 990 is it? I'd be interested to learn of the spec of it. I'm toying with the idea of a SD track bike as I'm no longer the supple racing snake that I once was and squeezing myself onto a sports bike isn't as easy as it used to be...

That was the 'inter' group, but there was a massive disparity in riding abilities.

I was there with the gang for my 40th, and what a birthday treat it was! It was nice to meet you PhilJax, I was on the RC8r.

It was good to meet you and the lads Millar :D What a great way to celebrate your birthday 8)
There's another NL one in November, myself and our mob are considering that one too.

Scotty... The thing

Image

Mines the SD. Pretty much the usual track mods, rearsets, junk the clean air gubbins, breather set up with a catch tank. open filter and Akra pipes, tune'ecu set up etc. Though I've gone slightly different on some things...
SDR seat (had a cover put on it, it was too slippy) Dave Brookes modified and revalved sussies (rear has a large bladder conversion) Suter slipper, with the strongest back limiter spring I could get. Accosoto M/C.

It's a work in progress, I want to lower the seat 25mm or so and get a QS, Few other bits n bobs too, but its pretty much sorted as is.
