David (Crusty) Cheney

I'm not sure whether he was a member but he was certainly one of the comrades. Photo's of his blue 1290 and other KTM's have appeared on these pages over the years. Always a big Superduke fan.

Some of you may have seen this bike around the forums:

The owner of this bike was one of the most passionate and dedicated motorcyclists I have ever known. This was just one of about 4 bikes David owned. David lived and breathed motorcycles and would ride at virtually any available opportunity. I only had the pleasure of knowing David for a couple of months but his enthusiasm was absolutely infectious and I rode with him and his crew of equally dedicated motorcyclists a number of times over the last 6 weeks. I had the privilege of doing a 200km ride with him just last Sunday and I always marvelled at his riding abilities. He was a highly experienced rider who knew and understood the machines he was riding.

With great sadness I discovered earlier today that David had passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident this morning, on the bike pictured above. Despite only knowing David for such a short time, I felt quite devastated as his passion for bikes had captivated me and we would email/text each other almost on a daily basis over the last few weeks anything and everything to do with bikes.

RIP David. I know you were doing what you loved best.

Chris

RIP dude. Sounds like the Scooby didn't see him and pulled out. Just a moment of not looking properly ending in tragedy.

Rest In Peace David!

Sad it happens all the time! A week ago similar incident in town here, the bike rider still in hospital.
First thing they try to do is blame it on speed, never mind the ton of metal turning in front of you!

Always a sad day when this section is used.

Personally I try to use this sad news to keep me more alert and slow down on the public roads...

The blue SD was indeed a reference in the SD images with good taste outside the usual orange.

RIP David and ride on up there.
Um abraco e mto boas curvas!! :)
