VERY SAD NEWS. PLEASE READ

Postby Plipton » Sun Jun 01, 2008 9:50 pm

All,

I have just received an email saying that Dr F (Tony Steele) was killed yesterday in a bike accident. My thoughts are very much with his family and friends at this very sad time.

Tony was a great bloke with a wicked sense of humour only a northerner could get away with.

A dear friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Rick

Edited to say:

Tony's girlfriend Zoe was kind enough to email me some photos of the 2 of them which are attached below with her permission.

Thank you Zoe and look after yourself. Having spoken to you I know Tony was a very lucky man.

Jesus !!!! i was only chatting to him about the MOd/Forum stuff on Friday.

Deeply saddened by this news.

If we can do anything like send a card/flowers i'd be more than happy to do either as an individual or as a 'group'.

RIP fella...

Bloody hell, I'm gutted to hear that.

Strange, never met the guy, but reading his posts and talking through the forum gives you an odd connection, and it feels like I knew him.

RIP.

Dr F. aka Tony Steele

Postby lockwood » Sun Jun 01, 2008 11:05 pm

Very shocked and saddened to read this. Tony, a fellow Yorkshireman, helped me out on more than one occasion, and was always keen and prompt to offer his expertise and knowledge, (and occasional sarcasm!)

The forum won't be quite the same without him!

P.S. Squire's cafe in Sherburn in Elmet has become quite an accident blackspot recently, perhaps the entrance/exit needs re-siting or something?

Sorry to say but based on his real name, and after discussions with a few coppers, this does indeed to be true.

He was leaving the cafe towards the bridge (i've never been there so only going on what i've been told) the car in front stopped and swerved, he hit the car and ended up being run over by an on-coming car and was killed.

All relatives etc have been informed so i feel i can post up this much information..

Once again, RIP

Godspeed, Dr F.

Make sure it's safe for the rest of us, we'll all ride together one day.

RIP. :(
I asked my dad if I could grow up & ride motorcycles like he did. "Son", he said, "you can't do both."

My favorite too...we shared the same thinking about orange, and carbon fiber, and his sense of humor/sarcasm.

I remember one post where he and I were battling over CRG bar end mirrors. I will never forget his biggest gripe: you couldn't make out coppers because of the convex shape of the glass

I will carry on the jokes and pokes about orange F, don't you worry.
