Alternative complete exhausts for RC8/R

Postby Vortex155 » Tue Jul 03, 2012 3:12 pm

I'm busy searching for a complete exhaust line for the ol RC8
Don't wanna spend a mere 3000€ for the akra-system although it's really good and so on, it's a bit expensive imo.

So found some French & Italian manufacturers

First is Fresco from France...
http://fresco-exhaust.com/ktm-rc8-ligne-complete-inox-embout-carbone-p-395.html

the silencer is something special, like it or hate it, but the pipework looks like motogp tech spec welding.
1000€

2nd is MSR from Italy

price is bout the same as the MSR, contacted them but they started negotiating for a GPR system, strange guys those Italians.

Termigoni is also in the back of my head somehow, although it looks stunning it destroys the RC8 balance imo

oil'right but JCE isn't a complete system, just a silencer that fits upon standard exhaust pipes, not the best solution.

although that front pipe awfully comes close to that coolant tube.
the jce is same price but don't has that pipework. Akra's exhaust tubes are also larger, same with this fresco.
So no hp-loss with open silencer.

I have a Quat-D, which admittedly is not a full system, but for my needs is still several shades of awesome. However, if you're goin' the full system route I'd deffo pick the Fresco option.
If you can't join em, beat em!

That MSR is now promoted on 875€ (postage 25€) very tempting but still in doubt to do it.
It fits my ktm though because i don't use the undertray on the road in combi with the sebimoto fairing.

Ok had a go with the Dominator exhaust this week.
Good value for money, hope the weldings hold out.
It needed some attention when installing, the system differs a few mm's with the oem exhaust, anyway it sounds great, not as loud as a JCE & considerable cheaper.

So are these guys capable of producing a system to fit the new SDR1290 to copy the concept bike?

I guess this system will even mount to the SD1290 if the holes underneath the engine hasn't changed.
I'll have a look at next EICMA event, going for 2days there with a couple of buddies.
...only thing that will have changed is the exhaust outlet it will have become a few mm's larger I guess?

Best is to contact Stefan, one thing that may cause a slight problem his English isn't that good, but he's helpfull & willing to have a look, pretty sure of that.
He also produces exhausts for the 990SD

I'm also in the same position!

About to order a termigoni unless I can find something better for the same or less money.

Anyone got any fresh ideas ?
I have emailed fresco see if we can get a titanium system at a bit better price then I may be tempted.

thats expensive and it still makes a lot of noise. One advantage its got all the mountings for oem-fairing.
...but I guess for 3000$ thats a must

My exhaust never arrived and I had to fight for my money back a couple of weeks ago from the tosser on eBay from Italy!
Buyers beware, kept a blaming the factory for not making the exhaust but refused to give me my money back so I had to open a case against him and finally got my money back 2 weeks ago.

I don't trust Italian & Chinese dealers on ebay anymore. They're mostly init for the scam part.
