Quick Action Throttle

Postby tripoddave » Tue May 28, 2013 8:05 am

I need to get a quick - action throttle for the RC8R.
It's not too bad on the road but on the race track it's just a pain to get it to max throttle.
Is it the same as for the SD? I've heard that the throttle housings are the same - does anyone know?
Can anyone recommend a solution?

I don't know how you do it!
For reference now superseded by U6910017
Given that according to KTM it is a universal fitment to all KTM 4-strokes does that mean the quick-action throttle from my Superduke will fit?
If so, that's a result!

Dave
People use standard RC8 as a quicker action on SD (so it must fit)

I would bet money that it works the other way round....suck it and see

Just need to plastic weld(soldering iron) or superglue a stripe of plastic to your existing plastic throttle cam and contour the curve to how ever you won't the power to come on.Have just performed the mod on my old 2001 triumph sprint st and it works s treat.Cheers

I'm considering this mod. I have the G2 throttle cam and although I had a .50 (fast) I was using .25 (fastest) Don't think the .25 is an option on the SDR with its more on/off fuelling and I can't find the .50 anywhere. Have a feeling I gave it to someone. My only concern is if the strip every came off and jammed the throttle open. That wouldn't be a good thing

I have some spare K100 (standard) and K400 (soft) G2 cams that you're welcome to try.
