rc8 who cares

Postby wrebitup » Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:58 am

I have been reading guys saying rc8 rc8 rc8 im thinking what the hell for sure its faster ,but duh its orange ,or white and orange so really why would anyone that isnt suffering from retina damage ,want somthing ,that bright "(just park your proper black bike indoors under a light if you must see it glow from 30 feet away )" then I saw it a black rc8 with orange stripes in a bike mag ,how come we have not seen pics of this why is it always orange huh! huh! ..............thats what I thought ,orange trying to take over the superduke world ,trying to keep the rc8 all for yourselves .well I think you plan has failed ......i will be asking for one for christmass in black ( better pic shows carbon fiber )with TINNY orange stripes like the gold rims on it ( marchesini ) freekin sweet bike 168hp in super stock form 195hp in superbike form ,so .....subtract 1/3 for orange bikes ?.... all the cool kids ride black dukes

I used to have an orange SD. I crashed it.

I now have a black SD.

The orange one was faster.

I am slowly adding orange bits to it to improve power, can't add them all at once as the change in power would be too sudden, I'll need to adapt gradually.

Orange is faster. It is commonly accepted as fact the world over.
One word.......ORANGE!

White is a smoother and more aerodynamic color and therefore faster.
8)

That orange should be the fastest is insane

Don't be ridiculous, of course it's the paint!
But the fastest colour by far, is stealth grey.
Remember... It's not how FAST you get there,... It's how FAST YOU GO, getting there.

I found out why Black KTMs are faster and it has nothing to do with the color! Prior to painting , the KTM factory tests all the bikes then paints the fastest ones Black . Fast Orange bikes occur when Black paint goes on back-order ( something that rarely happens at KTM  )

No no, you've got it backwards, KTM had to paint the fast ones orange due to health and safety cause they're so damn fast they had to be as bright a colour as possible so that the idiot car drivers could see em coming.
Longest ride on one wheel, 8 miles....

....if only I could do it on my SD.

the carbon RC8 you refer to is just a bike with all the carbon accessories on from the powerparts catalogue.

You can get all the bits plus a sticker set but you have to buy white or orange bike first.

As you can see, orange gets first place followed by white and black tied for second

Jim, Fast is in yer mind, we all have to deal with time and space continuum. fact. Orange is faster than black cos of pigmentation acceleration.

Just go check it out! White is the fastest cos of lack of interim pigmentation. As we are drawn into the future the speed seems slow and does not require

much attention to think you have a handle on reality, this is a mirage. not real, we could get a better grip on time and space by watching a soaring

comet fly through space, we are as snails and have not a clue of the universe and the application of dancing circles of bright light that controls our

destination in stratospheric 7 dimensional continuum, this would only pertain to matter and not pure electric energy which is what our core being is made

up of. The carbon fiber RC is 40 LARGE, Not to be brought here in NA for 36 more months with a 10% deposit.

How the hell did those gold wheels get on there? Black would be better. Get rid of the white # plates too sheesh. The RC8 R will not doubt be all black with an orange frame. That will be the one to get.

Maybe it's different on your side of the pond , but over here they paint street sweepers , road repair equipment and all of the slower vehicles bright colours so the faster Black vehicles can take the proper evasive actions.

Nothing wrong with this Black Powerparts RC8:

- magnesium marchesini wheels
- front carbon fender
- white sticker for race numbers etc etc

But I'm sure official team bike will be painted orang to be just that little bit faster  :P

i had a aprilia factory in black (with no gold frame) with gold wheels and loved the look.

If the KTm RC8R next year is black, gold wheels and some extra bhp i am buying.

It looks the nuts

I love the black carbon one with gold wheels how I suspect that unfortunately the RC8R will look more like the SDR in terms of colouring.

The carbon bike is done from exclusive KTM Hard Parts catalog items. They say that bike is about 14 kg's lighter than stock. Keep in mind the Akra exhaust is a big percentage of the weight savings.

Having ridden a stock RC8 at Miller's East Course, I imagine the Akra and map really wakes up the motor.
