Phone Mount

Postby MacaveliMC » Wed Dec 03, 2014 3:25 pm

Anyone know of a good product to mount your phone for viewing? I use my phone to open my garage as well as for GPS and whatnot, it'd be nice to have it in front of me for quick access.

Just look for handlebar mounted phone cases. There are loads as cyclists use them. I had one for my iphone 4s and it worked perfectly. haven't found one for my 6+ yet but bike is away for winter now anyway.

RAM mounts are probably the only thing I would trust.

I have a SlipGrip mount and it works great. They make different models to fit the phones and different cases (like otterbox).

I like that. That case looks a lot like the UAG cases I've come to know and love. How sturdy is it once it's locked into the mount?

Its incredibly sturdy!!! That was really the selling point for me as well. It clicks into place, and there is no movement whatsoever. It also comes with the lanyard for extra "piece of mind" in the highly unlikely event the phone comes detached.

And no part of the mount contacts the tank/bike, even at full lock to the right?

Nope. It is fully adjustable. I adjusted it so it allows you to go full lock without hitting anything. I believe they just came out with one for the new iphones 6 and 6 plus as well.

Surely you need to take your glove off to use the phone, so why not just keep it in your pocket?

I like it so I can see the gps on the phone. I can use the phone with the gloves on, such as changin playlist for the music. (I have mine hooked up to a sena 20s in my Arai).

I use this from Ultimate Addons:
http://www.ultimate-mobiles.co.uk/Consu ... _5s?bid=58

My iphone 5 works perfectly in the waterproof case (which has been tested!!!) i have the charger hardwired in and can use the phone with gloves on.

I also have the Uclear helmet coms which can bluetooth to the phone and have had a sucessfull clear phonecall whilst on the move!

Sounds horrible to me - I go out on the bike for peace and quiet and to avoid phone calls!

True! i only have coms when the missus is on her bike plus it auto links to the phone anyway as the phone is used for GPS when touring etc.

If i go for a blast tho...No Coms! :) Just the sweet sound of the Full Akra!!
