Mirror Options

Postby MacaveliMC » Mon May 13, 2019 12:41 pm

Hi ya'll,

I recently had my left side mirror shear off, probably from the years of wind buffeting. So now I'm trying to figure out what my options are.

I thought maybe I could grab a pair of small bar end mirrors for cheap, but was surprised to see how expensive they were.

A new left side mirror would cost about $76.14 with shipping. Anyone know of any aftermarket options that would be cheaper?

I've been using some cheap chinese bar end mirrors in my two latest bikes (CB1000R and 1290 SDR) and have been very happy with them. I can even see something else than my shoulders of them. They seem to sell for about $15/pair in ebay these days...
Only drawback are that after couple years the black anodising starts to fade and they turn more "goldish".
When installing, I cut the brass-part in the original barend weight and use it to connect them to the bike. I preferred it over the included fastener...
