Are LED indicator resistors all the same

Postby Pikey » Fri May 16, 2014 12:01 am

Basically I am trying to work out if all LED indicator resistors are the same.

Fitting a new set of LED indicators to KTM 1290 and as it already has LED indicators I am guessing I will not need resistors, but wanted to check if they are all the same, otherwise I might have to change or fit new ones to the indicator circuit

Cheers

If it has LED indicators no need for a resistor. Means it has a LED flasher relay, theoretically all the same.
If you don't do anything stupid when young, you have nothing to smile about when old!

All, fitted.

Just for anyone else thinking of changing the LED indicators on their 1290, the resistors are fitted to the indicator wire on OEM indicators and it is a nice slimline one that slides through the nuts when fitting, so cut them off and soldered them to the new indicators.... all good, work

On the front ones I had to cut a new thread through the special nut/spacer that holds them on to fit on new indicators as they were a slightly different thread.

You might be able to fit a thick washer and nut instead, but doubt it.
