Hello from Ireland!

Postby Sgt_Bodgers » Fri Jun 02, 2017 12:20 pm

Hi all, glad to become a member of the club!

My old LC4 supermoto was getting on a bit, so I looked for a change. Was considering a brand new 690 SMC but I stumbled upon a clean 2006 SD990 (2007 plate) with 24,000km and well, here I am.

Standard trim SD with MIVV cans, powerparts seat, R&G sliders and some small bling bits. Water pump built at 20k. After I bought it I've taken out the dB killers, orange anodised levers, evotech tail tidy, oberon slave upgrade, new Dunlop Qualifiers and I'm probably missing other bits. It's not immaculate as I'm more of a ride the piss of it guy than clean and polish every ride guy. I've done my best to clean it for a few pics.

What a machine! I've tried all types of bikes and I think the SD is the perfect cross of sportbike and naked/SM. I can't believe how easy it wheelies :D

Enough blabber, here she is! I hope links are okay.
Cheers, -Tom

Welcome in Tom!

Keep an eye on the brakes, if I recall correctly there are some corrosion issues that can cause them to lock up pretty easily on the 06 model.

Cheers Aphex, I will take extra care of them. I've just washed and dried it, then treated it with ACF-50 so I'll extra check those brakes are squeaky clean!
