Hello from Gloucestershire

Postby ojw123 » Fri Oct 13, 2017 12:31 pm

Hi!

Cracking resource here, already used lots so I thought it rude not to register and say hello.

Bought myself a 07 Black 990 in the last couple of months to replace a 08 690 Duke 3 after wanting something with a little more legs and less vibration! Previous come from a 749 Ducati and 03 SV650.

Big fan of tinkering and getting my bikes bob on, already started with the tarting up with the odd carbon bit and repainting rusty bits, but also had a play with balancing throttle bodies, replacing the coolant and flashing in the smoothed Akro map. Run afoul of the odd issue too, one snapped exhaust head bolt and one snapped in the water pump but all fixed thanks to the guides on here. Current project is polishing the headers from brown back to something resembling a shine!

Welcome. Good choice of bike, easy to tinker with. Throttle body balancing pays dividends – doesn’t is usually.

Welcome in, I have my gopro mount in almost the same location.

Love it for wheelies and making sure I'm hitting my apexes.
