Wow at 11 years I would buy the same one again!

Someone else will chime in here if I'm wrong but I don't think you're supposed to trickle charge the lithium ones.

I have had a lithium ion battery for a couple of years with no issues whatsoever. I live in Florida where it’s never really cold.
Bic in the U.K. has gone through several lithium batteries and went back to standard because they would die on him.
I did buy the special charger for lithium ion but I haven’t had to use it yet.

I've been using an antigravity battery under the seat for several years now. I put a battery tender Jr. on and keep an eye on it until it reaches full charge then disconnect it to prevent overcharging. I disconnect the battery from the bike to protect against parasitic drain for extended non riding periods,(winter). Easy enough to do as it fits under the seat :D

Have a li-ion. Bought it like that with it. 10k miles so far bringing the bike to 43k. Doing good, but my bike Doesn't go more than a day without a good ride.
