Which 16t sprocket?

Postby Petermiles01 » Fri May 18, 2018 8:51 pm

I’ve got a 2006 SD990 and want to change the front sprocket to a 16 tooth. Which one do people suggest?

Does it matter which kind of chain I’m using too?

Please post a link if possible.

Many thanks

Peter

I have always used the OE front sprockets from KTM. Pretty much all of them are the same (at least for my 950 and 1290 were the same). It has a larger rubber damper built into it. I don't know if this was a noise issue or something else, but it's for sure different from any aftermarket front sprocket I've seen and it didn't seem to be that much more money. I got mine from KTM World (local dealer but they are one of the bigger online sites). I don't remember the chain, probably a DID X ring or something like that.

actually here's what I ordered:
