Sideways Motorcycles going down

Postby blb » Thu Sep 30, 2010 7:58 pm

Bad news for KTM owners in Dorset and Somerset :(

Sideways motorcycles near Dorchester are closing down at the end of October.

Really bad news, the service at Sideways was/has the best service I've ever received from a bike dealer.

The guys there truly love their bikes and they are always really helpful. Once they even replaced all my rusty brake disc bolts for free on an 09 bike even though KTM wouldn't cover them under warranty! I didn't even buy the bike from them because I got mine privately!

I wish them all the best, unfortunately that also means I now have to go to Fowlups sorry Fowlers in Bristol for service. Not Good.

KTM need to support their dealers better with cheaper bikes and better deals for them to survive, otherwise we're all screwed.

That is surprisingly shite news.. I'm amazed. They're the best bike dealers I've come across, always going that extra bit for their customers. I know Bob the engineer left in Feb and Kyle took over but what that chap doesn't know about KTM's could be written on a pin top. A very sad day considering what I have to deal with on a regular basis, dealer wise..

I'm waiting to find out if Karl might service the bikes in the future, maybe he can take on the equipment and work out of CW motorcycles in Dorchester ( their parent company ) ?

I'll make sure I get contact details before they close the doors for good. :(

Sidways Closing.  .........This just proves there is no justice, with out a doubt the best bike shop I have ever used.

Bob and Kyle are fantastic mechanaics (the only ones I have ever felt truely happy with working on my bikes, I trusted them completely)

Great sales and after service and Nick in the stores always helpfull with nothing to much trouble

Best book up for a last service quick

if anybody has any info on where Kyle is going I would be very gratefull

Good news for anyone searching for Bob & Kyle - Bob started up his own business (check out http://bobpressleemotorcycles.co.uk/) and recently Kyle has joined him in his venture! It's not a million miles away from where Sideways was, just down the road at Wool, right next to the railway station , just in case you need to leave your bike.....
