Good god. RIP Nick, truly one of the most helpful members on here and one of the most skilled on a bike. So much knowledge to give.

Speechless. Black armbands at Crashfest in his memory...

For those that don't Nick personally he was a top guy, he is the chap on the left with his wife next to him (who also rides) sometimes its nice to know the person behind the username. Its clear he was bike mad and had been all his life.

He will be missed at Crashfest and Almeria both of which he was due to attend, i'm sure we will all raise a beer in his memory at the Crashfest.

fook.

This is horrible news. I only talked with him a few weeks ago because I just sold him my spare set of wheels and discs. He didn't want to bother with post so drove over one day. He had to wait for hours outside our house because Amy had gone out with the kids and I had gone to work. We had a lot of text conversations over those few hours.

He was a nice guy. I have to now go tell Amy that the nice guy from the SD forum she made a cup of tea for is no longer with us.

My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

I will miss his avatar and contributions to this site.

Shit. That's just terrible news.

Don't know Nick personally, just from a question I sent him through here and he was real kind and nice. I also learnt, in the short time I spent here, to recognize his avatar and give extra credit points when I read his arguments, as they seem to come from a lot of experience and knowledge.

I feel so sad now.

RIP mate.

Something that I’ve been thinking about for a while now. Without being too morbid.

I was thinking that if anything ever happened to me and Amy was left with having to deal with all my bike stuff and the garage full of parts. And the bike of course. In times like this, it’s the last thing she would want to deal with. But eventually she would have to and the options, in my experience, are usually not always the best outcome for the bereaved family.

What I’d like to happen is that there was someone, or a group of people, from this forum would contact Amy and offer to help her with the issue of what to do. Maybe the best thing would be to help sell it all off as a job lot and just get everything off the premises and out of her life. Or maybe she would need the best financial return and need someone to help break the bike and parts and organize the best possible return for everything.

She couldn’t do it on her own.

This isn’t about anyone trying to make a personal profit. Or to gain from a tragedy. It’s about helping a forum members family cope with something in the best way. I’d appreciate you guys doing this for Amy if anything happened to me. I was talking with her now and she said if that had happened to me then she would have rung and asked Klinky to help. (Sorry Craig, you’re already enrolled in this!)

So, in this case, I don’t know Nick’s family or the person who contacted Klinky. But maybe we should offer this help to his wife. At the right time. In a sensitive way. Just in case she needs it.

What do you guys think?

I would be willing to help if it was wanted.

I counted Nick as a friend and was really looking fwd to seeing him at Almeria.
As sad loss.

As for what Bic says, sure, if it's appropriate I would help in any way possible.

Condolences to the family and those who knew him
It's nice to see our small fairly tight knit SD community pulling together for those left behind by a fellow SDer

Is it possible to find out what the funeral arrangements are?
Are they accepting flowers / donations to a specific cause?

Honestly cannot believe this.

Only spotted the other week that no matter what time of day i hopped on here 90% of the time Nick's name was showing online.

We spoke alot on pm after the he sold his R1 as he was looking to get the his superduke working better on track.

The roads are far too dangerous these days. Something like this could happen to anyone in an instant.

Give it the absolute tits at Crashfest boys. It'll be a special one this.

I'll do everything I can to get the bike on the front row at Rockingham and hold up a message to the camera.

Just read it. Awful. First bloke I ever met off the forum. Sat in his lounge with him drinking tea and watched Almeria on his TV. Top guy. Really sad now.
He was such a nice bloke. Lived for bikes. His Lady, Amy went on all his trips to Spain. Don't think they had any children but Nick, a guy in his 50's might have kids. Such a loss for his family and the forum.
This awful news will take the edge off Crashfest and our Almeria trip in September. I'll miss him.

Nice words Gordon and Mike.. We will indeed give it the tits and it would be great if you can get a card up on tv Gordon.

After a week or two in my new job, Nick popped in just to say hello and talk SD's. I just ignored all the customers whilst we chatted. Nicks Superduke was absolutely the best sounding I have ever heard, it kind of reminded me of a spitfire howling overhead.

Nick was on TDR the day he passed giving advice to some Almeria newbies like myself, always happy to help with valuable advice. As Mike said Almeria and Crashfest could be quite sombre but we have to celebrate the man.

I wonder if we could get some decals made up of his avatar as a tribute to wear on our bikes at both events he was attending this year? Monies to go to charity? Air ambulance etc..
