Hello from Conroe, Texas

Postby jfink » Tue Jan 23, 2018 11:11 am

Hello, my name is Joe. I just purchased a used 2017 Super Duke GT / Grey. It came with about 1,700 miles. I come from a long line of KTM. As I mention in my tag line, I now have a KTM 990 Adventure Dakar and a KTM 500 Exc. I also have a BMW K1600 Exclusive that I bought from a friend at a price I couldn't turn down. And finally I have a GL1800 "Goldwing" that is like a part of the family now. It has over 132,000 miles and still runs like it's new. I have ridden every State in the US except Hawaii, every Province and Territory in Canada except Nunavut (can't get there by road) and every Country in continental North and South America (7 months on a bike). My Avatar is from Ushuaia, at the tip of South America. I am looking forward to hanging around on the Superduke forum and learning a little more about the SDGT.

Welcome in Joe,

You may put more miles on your bikes in a month than I do all year on mine. Shame on me.

Lots of information in this forum. Don't be afraid to search.

Enjoy!

Thanks Steve;

I learned a little about the GT today. They called for me to bring my bike in, so they could do the fuel pump recall. The wife was coming to pick me up, and said "I will probably beat you there!" "I don't think so!" When I passed her on the little country backroad, I bounced it off the rev limiter in second, hit third and the front wheel came up. Dang! Just about then, I guess the noise spooked a flock of sparrows and they scattered. One hit my helmet, another hit my shoulder. My wife was none to pleased about the aviary destruction. Fortunately, none hit the bike!
