General Failure

Postby cessnatpa » Thu Nov 27, 2014 2:01 am

When I turn the key on I'm getting a error code "General Failure" bike starts and everything seems fine, does anyone know what could cause this error to pop up?
I've searched the web, owners & repair manuel and this forum with no answer.

Problem solved, yesterday i turned on the heated grips and left it in that mode and since i haven't installed heated grips yet it threw an error.

Thread not moved yet? What's going on Admins?

So today I was browsing the settings menu and I turned on the 'heated grips' and since apparently I don't have them installed, it threw out a General Failure display.

The General failure, in this case, can be cleared by turning the heated grips back off in the settings menu. If you do it from the heated grips menu it won't clear. I know, confusing. Go back to settings and turn them off there.

Living in FL I wouldn’t have thought that Heated Grips were your first pick from the accessories goody bag Steve...

Scotty,
I did not order the heated grips. But since I saw the option in the menu, I thought they might have been preinstalled and I had a free accessory from Ktm.
Not on the top of my wish list when it comes to mods.
Actually, not many mods I want to do to this bike. For now.
