KTM 950 Super Enduro 3 day ride in SE USA

Postby SpeedyR » Thu Apr 26, 2018 4:38 pm

I know it's not my 1290 SD-R but a couple of friends with kTM 950 Super Enduros and I took a few day ride a couple of weekends ago. Took me a while to actually go thru all of the video footage from our ride, and create a ride report that's hopefully worth reading.... but here it is (pretty sure you don't have to be a member to read the report):

if you just want to see the video:

you can't have too much Super in your life, right?
2015 1290 SD-R- full Akra Evo
2007 950 Super Enduro- too much to list..
1997 Road King FLHRi- couch potato
2009 KLX140L
2012 TTR50e

Good film sequence, those trails look fun, though I'd rather do them on my WR250 than a 950 Super Enduro - much easier to pick it up when the inevitable happens, and there's less to damage on it! What is it about the magnetic pull that ruts and rain gullies have that draws your wheels in despite your best intentions of avoiding them? I guess the old adage of "you go where you look" applies only too well here. The stony section (after about 7:00) and subsequent "footpath along the side of a hill" bits are reminiscent of some of the gnarlier tracks that we ride in the Spanish Pyrenees, and rocks are much easier to negotiate when they're dry!

Good bit of film, thanks for sharing it :D
Wheelies - they ARE big, and they ARE clever....
