Yes, the guys in the know are in the know!
I've dropped my '07 on track many times and I have solid rear-sets fitted. The tabs on the frame are what are bent here, not the cast rears-set.
But they are relatively easy to bend back. Just get some sort of big leverage and "VERY SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY" ease them back into parallel with bike. I've done this at leat three times and (I guess they are weaker than as they were when new) but they are fine and have not fractured at the weld at all.
