SCSD990 anyone?

Postby luikki » Sat Jan 19, 2019 10:34 am

Good day from way too cold Finland atm.

Ive had SD for a while. The same bike twice actually. Made my second big mistake 4 years ago and sold her. Found and bought back last winter. Drove last summer a bit and felt lack of power. Started googling if anyone have put some positive pressure on intake manifold... I couldnt find any, and that where the idea came from. Gotta have it supercharged.
Started making some preparations, benched injectors and replaced with bigger ones. Got rid of evap shit. Moved battery etc. cables from the hugger to underneath seat. Made new brackets and so on. I'll be adding some photos if anyones interested and I find out how to do it...

Go for it! Photos are certainly appreciated, you could upload them to Imgur or Flickr and post the links here.

Lets try with some pics about the injectors. If this goes well, maybe ill add some more later. Tell me if the links wont work or im doing something wrong (like sharing my whole googledrive :D).

The original injectors with flow of 377 & 388 changed to 840. I have the measurement papers if some needs.
edit: the reason for new injectors was that the flow of the original ones is only enough for 130hp.

btw. 50 000km on the odo and all the tests passed with great numbers. No need to service.

Heres a bit about the wiring,

Original wiring and taken from ecu to battery etc. cut to lenght

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1s3wnqs ... sp=sharing

New wiring from starter to battery

More wiring work

Removing the evap and such

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dWxljn ... sp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zAAIh_ ... sp=sharing

Most of the wires needed some more lenght

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1soSORH ... sp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Qn0y5V ... sp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RRG30y ... sp=sharing

This is what it looks like from the original battery bracket
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BcCEyB ... sp=sharing

So now the wiring is all messed up at the seat and I needed some space for the battery and other shit. Had to take the plastic ones off and start measuring bigger ones.

At its place

Hehe wouldn't bet on it. However I guess new injectors dont have to work that hard. Theres just enough scale for future improvements.

Why did you move the battery? Granted it's a pain to get to but weight was central and down low vs now up high. Worse situation for handling.

I'm sure if they replace the AGM battery with a lithium the weight wont be noticeable at all.

Well i couldnt come up with any other place for the supercharger then the batterys location. Im very aware why it was placed down there but I guess the handling isnt going to be the number one problem on the list at this project :)

Lifepo4 or Lithium battery is what im going to get If we succesfully manage to get this up and running on some point.

It has been couple week pause for the project and im going to continue it next week when the pcv and autotune + some gaskets arrive.

The PCV 18-002 arrived. That was about 10min job to plug in. Shame I didnt know that it comes with o2 eliminators. I already bought 1 pair earlier. So i have o2 eliminators, 2&3 gear limiter eliminator, pump eliminator now. But yea, there wasnt any plugs if you wanna remove lambdasensors out of the exhaust. Those came with the earlier set so its not totally useless afterall...
AT-200 was easy to install aswell. Gonna post up pictures of the new o2 sensor and such next week... Need to finish weldin the battery bracket.

Hello,

Most of the modifications are done now before installation of the charger.
Electrics are done, without ECM fault light! Lambdas removed, new autotune lambda installed. Pcv installed, bigger injectors and fuel pump refurbished. Koso dual egt gauge and sensors on both exhausts. Battery and all the electrics are now located under the seat. Gotta try to start the bike tomorrow and tune pcv a bit that i can find idle and see what the egts say. After that i can start tearing bike apart once again.

I moved on and started planning the v-belt pulley. Had to make tools(bolts) to remove the cover and magneto.

Since im not removing the engine or the crankshaft im going to use cnc machine to make attachment to the magneto. Next week we'll see how it goes.

Great project! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to see it developing. Wish I had the skills to even think about something like this.

Good stuff!
